Abstract

Teacher quality is confirmed as one of the essential school factors influencing student achievement and the success of educational innovation, especially at elementary school. This paper developed and standardized a self-assessment tool to assess elementary teachers' responses to professional standards. After surveying 375 elementary teachers, we got the result that showed the reliability of the toolkit is good (Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient > 0.7). Among the five component competencies identified, the competence of professional development according to educational innovation is self-assessed by teachers at the lowest level (mean = 2.5 / 4, SD = 0.5). The standardized toolkit will help teachers self-assess and improve skills to meet the required standards.
