Abstract

It is shown in this article how a built-in displacement-monitoring device can be used in a two-mirror telescope to automatically adjust the position of the secondary mirror with respect to the primary mirror. A mathematical description is given of the displacement-monitoring device and of the method of operating it, on the basis of which algorithms are proposed for controlling the drives of the secondary mirror.
