Abstract

In the digital age, teaching is not just an addition of technology and pedagogy, but it is an integration of technology and pedagogy. This study is written to report on the development of a questionnaire for measuring college teacher's teaching competency in this digital age. We propose a framework with four dimensions to measure college teacher's teaching competency after the analysis of prior theories and methods of measuring teacher competency. The framework includes awareness, literacy, strategy, and research. Later, we develop and distribute a questionnaire with the four-dimension factors to a group of 1147 teachers from 28 universities and colleges. The results of factor analysis (EFA and CFA) suggest that the framework is a good fit for measuring college teacher's competency. Furthermore, the results shown that the validity and reliability of this questionnaire can be applied to a large population.
