Abstract

The University of Southern Indiana recognized the importance of providing a wide range of distance education programs for practicing health care professionals. Quality education geared toward the busy professional has not always been available. The purpose of distance education is to provide programs that are convenient and easily accessible for busy working professionals. The knowledge and skills needed to practice in a busy health care setting is always changing and education must change in order to keep pace. Development of online programs includes the recognition of generational differences between the traditional college student and the nontraditional working professional when using technology.
