Developing a palliative care curriculum for an ob-gyn residency program

Abstract

Objectives: Caring for gynecologic oncology patients requires palliative care knowledge and skills. Our objective was to increase Ob-Gyn residents' knowledge, skills and comfort level in caring for patients with serious illness and at the end of life. To develop a curriculum, we surveyed residents of all four years in an Ob/Gyn residency program to assess their level of knowledge and comfort in palliative care.
