Abstract

We present here approaches for a distributed scalable Java component server. The first one uses a resource broker model, whereby the system is composed of one or several entry point servers, a resource broker and a set of participating servers. The resource broker gives the system its dynamic scalability and load balancing capability by notifying participants and providing information to the entry point servers. An experimental version of the server has been developed. Two other approaches based on Jini and JavaSpace are proposed. An experimental version of the latter one is also compared with the resource broker model.
