Abstract
This article describes the development and implementation of a corporate simulation model for a medium-sized New Zealand firm producing a range of medium density fiberboard products. Problems associated with the design and implementation of a planning model in a relatively young, capital-intensive company are highlighted in terms of changing objectives and model requirements. An assessment of costs and benefits is included.
