Abstract

Network Management is the major requirement that has to be implemented in each vehicle. As the number of ECUs(Electronic Control Unit) are increasing, we need to have proper turning ON and OFF of the ECUs as per the demand. The vehicle consist the various communications Protocols like CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet and MOST. In this paper only the Network Management testing of the CAN protocol will be performed. CAN NM are of various types such as OSEK (Open Systems and the Corresponding Interfaces for Automotive Electronics) NM, AUTOSAR NM, and OEM specific NM. OSEK NM also has two types Indirect and Direct OSEK NM. The development of the CAPL(Communication Access Programming Language) scripts is done for testing of Network Management which is based on Direct OSEK. CAPL script which is developed for the following use case such as DUT(Device Under Test) NM Ring Formation, DUT skip behaviour after the ring was formed, DUT behaviour when and successor node joins a network after the ring was formed, DUT behaviour when and predecessor node joins a network after the ring was formed and DUT Limphome behaviour when DUT is the only ECU present on the CAN Bus. The entire report has been generated indicating the test case which has passed and failed. The failed test case shall be specified with the reason for its failure of it.
