Abstract

The construction sector is critical to the development of infrastructure in all developing countries. A subcontractor is a firm that works under contract with the contractor to implement and complete the project’s work packages. To select subcontractors suitable to the nature and scale of the work in the context of the speedy bidding time is a very difficult problem for main contractors. Therefore, this paper builds a set of weights to evaluate the criteria for selecting construction subcontractors. The main contractor then can evaluate and select subcontractors more quickly and efficiently. By using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), weights of criteria for evaluation and selection of subcontractors have been developed into four main groups of criteria: price, quality, time, and completeness.
