Abstract

Early career researchers (ECRs) face many questions: How to begin and decide on a topic? How to frame a good research paper and publish it in a quality journal? How to communicate and respond to a reviewer? Most researchers start without answers to these questions and end up not achieving their full career potential. This chapter provides a basic guide for ECRs to help them find answers to these questions. It starts by explaining the basic process of research and basic contents of a research paper. It explains how each section should be structured to prepare it for publishing in top-quality journals and how to respond to a reviewer’s comments in such a journal. It motivates young researchers to target top-tier journals and provides a guide for researchers which they can replicate with rigor and hard work to publish good-quality research papers.
