Abstract

The theoretical analysis shows that if the assumption of the constant tray efficiency of a rectification column is included in the mathematical model, the relation between thermal input and reflux ratio has a character of an unambiguous and monotone function. The conclusions from the considerations are supported by the results of the calculation of the above mentioned relation on an analogue computer for the case of a three-tray rectification column. The ambiguity, if any, will be intercepted in the mathematical model only, if the dependence of the tray efficiency on the load of the rectification column is regarded by us.
