Abstract

Purpose: Airplanes’ technical structures’ fatigue has long been followed to achieve effective maintenance cycle, but the same has been difficult concerning the human body. A better understanding of the cumulative physical load might control the work load better, thus preventing typical health problems. High level physical demands have been associated with flight-induced musculoskeletal problems. The purpose of the study was to examine how pilots’ cumulative G-exposure is related to musculoskeletal problems in the Finnish Air Force.
