Abstract

This study attempts to determine the socio-economic factors affectingparticipation in local community head elections in Armenia.To that end, a binary logistic regression model was estimated usingthe household survey data gathered by the Caucasus ResearchResource Center’s (CRRC) regional office in Armenia, within theframework of the Civic Engagement in Local Governance (CELoG)Project. The results of the estimation showed that economiccondition, settlement type, age, awareness of local governmentpowers, and trust were statistically significant determinants of participationin local community head elections.
