Abstract

Through the survey, we find that the social base of the M'nong Epics (Ot Ndrong) was in the early history of human history, the time when people were on their way to come before “the threshold of the era of civilization”. The main content of the M'nong Epics was the wars that unified small and sporadic villages into larger alliances. In Ot Ndrong, the spirits had a very important role; There, spirit and human activity intertwined as in a universe that was still in chaos. Besides, polygamy, custom of totem worship, the taboo and the ancient rituals appeared very regularly. From the research results, we have more evidence to confirm that the M'nong Epic is a mythical epic.
