Abstract
Liquid chromatography/atmospheric pressure chemical ionization mass spectrometry was used to determine vitamin D3 and its analogs. Vitamin D3 and its analogs were separated on a reversed phase ODS column. The eluent was fed into the atmospheric pressure ionization interface and vitamins were then quantitated in the selected ion monitoring mode. The detection limit of vitamin D3 and its analogs were ca. 0.5 ng (on-column) at a signal-to-noise ratio of 2. This method was used to determine vitamin D3 and D2 in multi-vitamin tablets. The flow injection mode was also effective for the determination of VD3 in multi-vitamin tablets.
