Abstract
A gradient elution ion-pair HPLC assay was developed for the analysis of tylosin and related macrolides in fermentation broth. The effect of the ion-pair agent concentration and identity was studied to optimize the reproducibility of the separation. The assay compares favorably with the biological assay and is sufficiently durable for the analysis of many samples per column.
