Abstract
Abstract Two methods are described for determining water‐soluble phosphate in the range 0.5 to 10 μg P/l, using solvent extraction for the concentration of molybdenum blue. The manual shaking method had a precision of 0.02 μg P/l; the continuous extraction method, a precision of 0.05 μg P/l. The methods have been found suitable for measuring phosphate in water extracts of soils.
