Abstract

Resins synthesized from quinolin-8-ol and resorcinol or hydroquinone, with furfuraldehyde, formaldehyde or benzaldehyde as cross-linking agent, were used for the preconcentration of nanogram amounts of lead. The rate of exchange and activation energy of lead exchange were calculated. Column spearations of lead-copper and lead-zinc did not show any cross-contamination. A continuous-flow manifold using resin microcolumns was developed for the preconcentration and determination of lead.
