Abstract

Third-order nonlinearity induced by femtosecond pulses in ZnTe is investigated experimentally. We employ the transmission z-scan technique, using femtosecond pulses at 810 nm, to determine Kerr-type nonlinearity in ZnTe. The implications of our results to the terahertz (THz) radiation generation are discussed.
