Abstract

1. The equilibrium constants, and the change in the enthalpy, entropy and chemical shifts, were obtained when aniline was complexed with triethyl phosphate and tri-p-tolyl phosphate, and piperidine was complexed with tri-o, p-xylenyl phosphate. 2. It was found that pyridine complexes with triphenyl phosphate. 3. The complexing of phosphates with amines proceeds via the formation of both the hydrogen bond NH... O=P and the Nδ-...pδ+ bond. 4. A method was proposed for determining the complexing constant at comparable concentrations of the components from the NMR data.
