Abstract

1. A method was proposed for determining the temperature dependence of the bulk modulus of pure metals. It was established that Eqs. (4) and (11) give similar values of K. However, the values of K calculated from (4) agree better with experimental data. 2. Values of K calculated from (4) and (11) were compared with values obtained from acoustic measurements. It was found that there is little difference between the two sets of K for simple metals. It was concluded that it is expedient to use the proposed method to determine the temperature dependence of bulk modulus for such metals in engineering applications. 3. The method may be of limited value in the case of transition metals, since a significant deviation from experimental data is seen in this case.
