Abstract

We develop a method and a digital optical system for the contactless measurements of displacements and strains in the wall of fuel tank of a rocket carrier. The proposed methodology of measurements and equipment were verified in the course of their certification tests. The stress-strain state of the wall of fuel tank was found according to the strain fields determined in the controlled domain. The results of contactless measurements of strains are compared with the data of tensometric measurements and their good agreement is established. We also reveal the prospects of the methods of digital optical measurements and give recommendations concerning the practical application of the developed procedure.
