Abstract

The possibility of applying a standard method for calculating the shear force for highly coercive samarium–cobalt permanent magnets in a magnetic system with a magnet width less than its thickness by more than two times is considered. Based on the results of the study correction coefficients were introduced into the methodology for calculating the shear force in a magnetic system with such type magnets, depending on the air gap between them. Using the obtained mathematical expression, it is possible to calculate the shear force of permanent magnets in a magnetic system at the stage of design development of hermetic equipment when using magnets of 2.57 (width) × 30 (length) × 8 (thickness) mm size and an air gap between them from 1 to 4 mm.
