Abstract

The actual paper presents a new smart grid function that predicts an actuator demand in advance. This function supports the grid operator to plan and manage smart assets more efficiently. Smart grid systems are subject to a developing process. Especially the development of adaptive functions that enable to run the system stable and reliable in a changing environment without manual interventions are in focus. Adaptive functions detect unaccounted modifications within the network. Today these modifications may influence the electrical systems in a critical way so that the standard conditions of EN 50160 might not be met anymore due to a lack of actuator flexibility. To avoid those situations new functions are necessary that predict actuator demand in advance. For an efficient operation of an adaptive smart grid system, two functions are suggested. This paper shows how adaptive smart grid functions simplify and improve the operation of a smart grid system.
