Abstract

A sample of K + mesons stopped in the CERN 1.1 m 3 heavy liquid bubble chamber is used to determine the K l 3 + decay rates. We find 0.604 ± 0.022 for the K μ3 + K e3 + branching ratio, and from this we deduce a mean value for ξ= ƒ − ƒ + of -0.6 ± 0.2. The separate K μ3 τ and K e3 τ branching ratios were found to be 0.510 ± 0.017 and 0.846 ± 0.021, respectively.
