Abstract
We consider the problem of optimal description of the viscoelastic properties of composites consisting of components with viscoelastic properties. Using the Laplace–Carson transformation and the rational approximation, we have constructed an algorithm for the reduction of functions describing the viscoelastic properties of the matrix and reinforcement to functions of the same class. This method can be used for simplifying the solution of problems of the linear theory of viscoelasticity. As an example we consider the problem of reduction of viscoelastic functions to the same class for a unidirectionally reinforced composite.
