Abstract

Most studies concerning crystallographic parameters associated with the martensitic transformations in some metals and alloys presented in the literature, are based on finite deformation analysis, which needs involved computation. However, if an infinitesimal deformation is taken, the calculations in question become rather simplified. Therefore, in the present study demonstrating this point, the crystallographic parameters associated with the martensitic transformation are calculated using the infinitesimal deformation theory. Moreover, the results obtained for the zirconia alloy are compared with those of phenomenological crystallographic theory and experimental results.
