Abstract

A procedure is proposed to improve the acid digestion of human teeth. A closed flow system is used to digest samples inside a microwave oven which allow us more rapid treatment of samples than classical pressurized wet ashing methods, not requiring the use of long cooling periods and also reducing the sample handling. The content of Sr, K, Mg and Na in human teeth samples has been determined by atomic spectrometry and precise and accurate results have been obtained.
