Abstract
Abstract Eight elements(Cu, Co, La, Nd, Pr, V, Y and Zn) were determined in acid digests of the phosphate rocks using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-AES). The abondance of these elements exhibits the typical distribution pattern reported in geological samples from Turkey. The analytical method described in this paper is suitable for the determination of rare elements in phosphate rocks even if the element concentrations are very low in samples. While HCI+HNO3 acidic rock dissolutions are incomplete with respect to some rock forming minerals the used HF+HNO3 attack dissolves these minerals completely.
