Abstract

Specular neutron reflectivity measurements were performed on electropolymerised films of poly(pyrrole-N-propionic acid) to determine the degree to which the solvents are capable of supporting biological macromolecules can penetrate the polymer film. The permeation profile of Ni 2+ ions which chelate to the polymer's carboxylic acid moieties for subsequent modified protein binding was also determined.
