Abstract

Angiotensinase activity was estimated in plasma and serum, before and after freezing, and in glass and plastic containers. Enzyme assays were performed biologically by following synthetic [Val 5]-angiotensin degradation and chemically by α- l-aspartyl-β-naphthylamide hydrolysis. Clotting and freezing did not affect angiotensinase activity significantly, but contact with glass did increase activity above that found with plastic.
