Abstract

The relative oscillator strengths of eleven resonance lines of copper, having excited levels belonging to the configurations 3d94s4p, 3d104p and 3d105p, have been determined from atomic absorption measurements of the radiation emitted from a copper hollow-cathode lamp. Allowance is made in the analysis for the effect of differences in the hyperfine structures of the lines. The results are interpreted by considering the effects of configuration interaction and departures from LS coupling, using mixing coefficients derived by Landman et al. (1969).
