Abstract

In order to obtain the diameter distribution in a noninterference and polydisperse system of highly oriented long cylinders, an integral transformation of the scattering intensity is discussed. A modification of Riseman's method is tried for the Mellin inverse transformation, and the resolvent kernel of the transformation is obtained explicitly in term of products of the first and second kind Bessel functions, which have the same form as the one given by Fedorova (J. Colloid Interface Sci. 59 (1977)98). Thus, the diameter distribution function can be expressed by a convergent integral.
