Abstract

The transmission paths of vibration from the factory floor of the board mill to the ‘floating’ floor of the control room were identified using vibration intensity measurements. The method proved to be useful although the bending stiffness of the floor was not known exactly. The usual vibration measurements did not give any clues about the attachments between the floor of the control room and the floor of the mill.
