Abstract

A simple, sensitive, accurate and rapid gas chromatographic method for the quantitative determination of phosphorus in copper-phosphorus alloys is described. The method is based on the chlorination of the sample with carbon tetrachloride in a sealed glass capsule at 550°C. The volatile products are introduced into the gas chromatograph after crushing the capsule in a special device.
