Abstract

This work reports a sensitive high-performance liquid chromatography with diode-array detector (HPLC-DAD) and high-performance thin-layer chromatography with diode-array scanning (HPTLC-DAD) methods for the determination of ten pesticides belonging to different chemical classes in wines samples. The proposed method makes use of a solid-phase extraction (SPE) procedure with C18 Polar Plus and C18/SDB-1 cartridges for isolation and concentration of analytes. Acceptable average recoveries for nearly all pesticides measured at concentration level 200 ng mL−1 of wine were in the range 69–119%. In HPLC-DAD method, limits of detection (LODs) were in the range 0.03–0.27 µg mL−1 and limits of quantification (LOQs) were in the range 0.10–0.81 µg mL−1. Whereas, in HPTLC-DAD method, LOD was equal 0.11 µg per spot and LOQ was 0.33 µg per spot for prometryn identified in wine samples, respectively. The quantities of the pesticides determined were in the range 1.5–2.0 ng mL−1 of wine (n = 5).
