Abstract

Nursing care is crucial for patient satisfaction and recovery. The objective of the study is to determine the perceived quality of nursing care in a care home in Tulcán, Ecuador. Using a qualitative approach, in-depth interviews were conducted with three families, complemented by direct observations at the study site. The results showed that user satisfaction is moderate due to poor verbal communication from the nursing staff, and a lack of empathy and cordiality. Patients suggest that these aspects should be improved through training. The main conclusion of the study is that better communication and treatment by the nursing staff are essential to enhance the perceived quality of service, positively influence patient recovery, and strengthen the image of the health center
