Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present a practical method for the determination of reorder intervals in a coordinated distribution network. The method is for nested policies where a facility replenishes whenever its supplier replenishes. The solution algorithm is computationally simpler than existing algorithms for this problem, and can easily be implemented in a system with several warehouses and retail outlets and a large number of items.
