Abstract

A sensitive and simple method for determination of molybdenum in rat organs by solvent extraction and atomic absorption Spectrophotometry is described. After treatment of the sample, molybdenum is separated by extraction of the ion pair formed by the trioctylmethylammonium cation and the complex with benzohydroxamic acid into ethyl acetate. The method has been used to study the influence of anthocyane in the distribution of the element in rats.
