Abstract

Comparison of two instrumental methods for the analysis of lithium in sea water showed that both atomic absorption and flame emission spectrophotometry can be used without pretreatment of the sample. The interference of the other constituents of sea water in the analysis has been studied. Calibrations using an artificial sea water or the standard addition method may be used.
