Abstract

A method is described that selectively extracts boric acid from cosmetic products. The boric acid is complexed with mannitol and titrated potentiometrically against sodium hydroxide solution. The method has been developed for a variety of substrates used for cosmetic products to cover the concentration range 0.5–5%m/m.
