Abstract
The present work aims to research for power loss in electric power converters of locomotives. In locomotives with induction motors is apply autonomous voltage inverter that operates with high frequency switching. This produce large power losses, which reduce the overall efficiency of locomotive. The exact definition of these power losses allow more accurately determine the energy efficiency of the power inverters.
