Determination of Compositions and Structures of Synthesized Calcium Alkyl-Aryl Sulphates by Direct Method

Abstract

The elemental compositions and the average molecular weights of two synthesized calcium alkyl-aryl sulphates, which were provided by Da Lian Petrochemical Company, were determined by direct method and acidizing method. The average formulae and the average molecular structures of the two samples were inferred. The same results were obtained by using the two methods so that the direct method could be used to replace the complex acidizing method. The study also showed that IR, HNMR, etc., could be directly applied in the analysis on alkyl-aryl sulphonates-like complex compounds, which is reasonable and feasible. The results are reliable.
