Abstract
Abstract The addition of an increment of water to the extracting solvent increased the extraction of xanthophyll from dehydrated alfalfa meals but not from lyophilized meals. Results of the analysis for carotene and xanthophyll compared favorably with analysis by AOAC method 39.018–39.023.
