Abstract

A method for determining Cd in tobacco flavor by microwave digestion-graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry with automatic longitudinal Zeeman background correction was developed and 30 flavor samples were tested. The results showed that:1)the proper conditions for determining Cd were ashing temperature 600 ℃ and atomizing temperature 1300 ℃ with Pd(NO3)2 as a matrix modifier;2)the recoveries of Cd were from 96.5% to 102.0% with RSD≤2.9 % and the limit of detection of 0.029 μg/L;3)Cd content in 11 samples was from 0.08 to 0.18 mg/kg,in 10 samples from 0.21 to 0.38 mg/kg,in 4 samples from 0.41~0.53 mg/kg and in 5 samples undetected.
