Abstract

A new gas chromatographic method has been developed for the rapid and accurate identification and determination of biphenyl and orthophenylphenol in citrus fruits. Several illustrations are given of standard curves and recoveries. A check on overlapping components has been carried out by using a combination of gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. The analytical results on eighteen samples of citrus fruits are tabulated.
