Abstract

A simple, rapid, and accurate method is presented for determination of the binding constants of eight basic drugs with serum albumin by affinity capillary electrophoresis with the partial filling technique. Molecular modeling and multivariate regression analysis were used to investigate the relationship between the binding constants and the physicochemical properties of the drugs. The results show that hydrophobic attraction is responsible for interaction of most of the drugs with HAS, although interaction between sulfamethoxazole and HSA is because of electrostatic attraction.
