Determination of aluminium in silicon by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry

Abstract

The sample is decomposed with hydrofluoric and nitric acids and the diluted solution is injected into the graphite furnace. For a 100-mg sample, the detection limit (3 σ) is 1.2 μg AI g -1. The coefficient of variation is 3–13% for 9–7000 μg Al g -1 in silicon.
