Abstract
The intensity ratio of the X-ray characteristic lines L α to K β ,L α /K β decreases exponentially with increasing Cu valence.In ordre to obtain the correct results,we need to make a correction owing to the effects of atomic number,absorption and fluorescence(ZAF correction).The valences of Cu in high-T c oxide superconductors Ba 2 NdCu 3 O 7-δ and Bi 2 Sr 2 CaCu 2 O 8+δ are estimated
