Abstract

Further measurements were proceeded to obtain experimentally the mean temperature profiles close to the heated smooth wall, in the turbulent flow of water. An improved equipment (voltmeter of sensibility ± 1 μV and rapid recording at regular intervals) was used, and the results are statistically sure. They confirm the semi-logarithmic law of temperature distribution with the coefficient A θ less than that (A) obtained for the velocity distribution. Hence, Pr t = A θ / A is equal to about 0,885. In addition, the results show that the intermittent zone of turbulent thermal boundary layer extend very near the wall ( y < 10 mm).
